Kyaing Tong is a town in the Eastern part of the Shan
State with religious architecture influenced by Thai art. The
structure and décor seen in the old wooden monasteries are unique to
this part of the country.
A placid lake stands downtown where people stroll in the evenings,
and more excitement is found at the bustling morning market where the
people of different races come to trade.
In the surrounding hills are their villages where one could trek or
drive, to visit them in their own environment. |
