Destination: Yangon - Bagan - Popa - Mandalay - Mingun - Pindaya - Inle - Yangon

Day 1 International flight-Yangon

tour16On arrival at Yangon International Airport, the guide will escort on your transfer to your hotel in town which is a thirty-minute drive. After lunch your guide will conduct the city tour which includes the high lights as the Chaukhtakkyi Reclining Buddha, the largest reclining Buddha as well as the most life-like Buddha statue in Yangon, the Shwedagon Pagoda which is the icon of Myanmar, the wonder of the world and the world oldest Buddhist monument. Bogyoke Market with every item you would like to buy has all under the same roof. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.

Day2  Yangon-Bagan

tour14After early Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Bagan. Upon arrival at Nyaung U airport, the guide will meet you and do the sightseeing in Bagan prior to the hotel check in. The morning sightseeing includes Nyaung U local market of vegetables, meat and fish, household equipment, clothes, and handicraft. Visit the Shwezigon Pagoda from the 11th century, the prototype of Myanmar stupa with other temples around within the same compound. In the afternoon visit the largest lacquer ware factory located in New Bagan Village. In the evening, watch the panoramic view and the famous sunset of Bagan from the terrace of Shwesandaw Pagoda of the 11th century A.D. After sunset, go to the local restaurant with traditional marionette show. Stay over in Bagan.

Day 3 Bagan-Popa-Bagan

tour15Begin the trip to Mt. Popa right after breakfast at hotel. It is an hour drive to Mt. Popa. The scenery on the way is relaxing and green. The first stop is at toddy palm sugar hut situated halfway to Mt. Popa. We will take a climb to the top of Taungkalat which stands to the elevation of 700 meters at the foot of Mt. Popa. Mt. Popa is a volcano in dormant state. The last eruption took place 700,000 years ago. The volcano plug shot out of the mouth of Mt. Popa miraculously landed upright at the foot of Mt. Popa. The volcanic plug that has been standing on the ground since is known as Taungkalat. Taungkalat is the most important spot for pilgrimage made by spirit worshipers. It also provides the breathtaking views. The alternative for the views is from the terrace of the dinning hall from Popa resort. Drive back to Bagan after the climb and as the time allows, observe the famous sunset of Bagan from the different angle and different level of another tall temple.

Day 4 Bagan-Mandalay

tour18Transfer to Nyaung U Airport for the flight to Mandalay. The flying time will be only 30 minutes. Local guide will accompany you for checking in at the airline’s counter. Your local guide will welcome you at Mandalay International Airport. From the airport to Mahaganda Yone Monastery in Amarapura is a half an hour drive, and visit the lunch procession at the monastery. Continue the visit to Inwa; twenty minutes from Amarapura to Inwa jetty. Cross the small Myitnge River by ferry for only five minutes, and pony ride to visit the high lights of Inwa: Bagaya Wooden Monastery, Leaning Tower of Inwa, Mae Nu Brick Monastery. On your way to Mandalay from Inwa, visit U Bein Bridge for the famous sunset over Taungthaman Lake. Check in to the hotel in Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day5  Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay

tour20Transfer to the Mandalay jetty for the one-hour riverine trip to Mingun in the morning. The boat trip to Mingun provides you the beautiful scenery and commercial activities on the river. You can also see the lifestyle of the village people who live along the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy River. At Mingun, visit first the unfinished temple of Mingun. Visit the biggest ringing bell in the world known as Mingun bell. Visit Myatheindan Pagoda which is known as the Taj Maha of Myanmar. You can get access to the upper part of the Pagoda for the surrounding view including the view of the Ayeyarwaddy River. Come back to Mandalay, visit the Mahamuni temple that houses the most revered bronze statue of Buddha covered with eight centimeter thickness of gold. Visit Mandalay Palace which was destroyed in WWII, but today there is the replica of the whole Mandalay palace’s complex to see exactly where the old one once stood. Visit Kuthodaw pagoda known as the largest book in the world for its 796 marble tablets bearing the entire doctrines of the Buddha. The sightseeing ends up at the top of Mandalay hill for the sunset and the panoramic view of Mandalay.

Day 6 Mandalay-Pindaya-Inle

tour19After early Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival at Heho Airport, the guide will meet you, and start straight away your journey to Pindaya from Heho. It is two and a half hour drive from Heho to Pindaya. First stop at the commercial town called Aung Ban. It is an interesting stop to see the local travelers make a stop there too. The rest of the trip to Pindaya is provided with the most scenic route in Shan State that is known as the Switzerland of Myanmar. Lunch at local restaurant upon arrival at Pindaya. After lunch, visit the bamboo umbrella and Shan paper factory. Drive uphill to the gate of the Pindaya Cave, climb upstairs for a hundred steps to the cave’s entrance. The cave is consecrated by the presence of 8000 statues of Buddha in different sizes. In the afternoon, depart Pindaya village for Nyaung Shwe town. The trip takes three and a half hours by car. Short boat ride from Nyaung Shwe jetty to hotel. Night stop in Inle.

Day 7 Inle

tour17After breakfast at hotel, start the sightseeing on the lake by boat. Visit five-day-rotating market, silk weaving, iron smith, cheroot factory, and silver smith. Lunch at local restaurant on the lake; visit Paungdaw Oo Pagoda with five gold statues of Buddha, more like five lumps of gold, to all appearance. Dinner at hotel and overnight in Inle Lake.



Day 8 Inle- Yangon

After breakfast, transfer accompanied by guide from hotel to airport. Arrive Yangon in the same morning. Transfer accompanied by guide from airport to hotel. Check in to hotel and lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, do half-day Yangon sightseeing, visit Shwedagon Pagoda and China town. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.

Day 9 Yangon

Your leisure time depends on the international flight. Transfer accompanied by guide from hotel to Yangon International Airport. Depart Yangon.
